The Covenant Apostolics
Carrying the first century message... Into the twenty-first century.
The power and empact afforded to the first century Apostolic Church defies discription. Through the death, burial, and resurection of Jesus Christ, He had both redeemed man from sin and reconciled us to the "Covenant" which we had breached. Man could now "repent" of the commandments we had broken, have all record of our commandment breaking washed away through "baptism in Jesus' Name", and then have those very commandments transferred from the two tables of stone and written in our hearts by the infilling of the "Holy Spirit". Once those ten eternal precepts are no longer in stone but rather are indelibly inscribed in the heart of the believer, then effectively the Covenant becomes "NEW"... ie... "New Covenant" Faced with these "New Covenant" believers, Satan suffered defeat on every front. His only recourse was to do what he had originally done with Adam; deceive man again into disobedience, thus breaking our New Covenant, and legally removing us from it provisions. Shortly after the death of the last Apostle, the erosion of truth began to dim the light of the church, and ultimatly we ceased to walk in the Covenant and lost the truth of the Ten Commandments which governed it. Most of the Apostles' doctrine would be twisted or totally lost over the next generation. By the third century both the message and method of the first century church had been eclipsed by Rome and it's pagan clergy. Satan would use the Roman Emperor Constantine to wrench from believers their obedience to God. The goal of Constantine became to merge Christianity with ideas which were already deeply rooted in pagan culture. And therfore omit the Commandments which tied the Church to God's throne rather than Rome's. By the time Constantine was finished, the face of Christianity would be virtually unrecognizable. Ultimatly all four of the Covenant Commandments that deal exclusively with Man's relationship toward God would be abandoned. How could such a transformation be possible? How could it be done without the True Church sounding an alarm? The answer is recorded in history. Force the vast pagan Roman Empire to convert to this new "Universal Church". By doing so you would fill the church with thousands of unregenerated men who had no connection to the original early church teachings. They, did not know the "One God" of the First Commandment, thus they accepted a "triune god" in His place... God's First Commandment Abandoned They were already accustomed to the Idolitry of "temple worship", being awed by the works of men's hands rather than the real Glory and Presence of God... God's Second Commandment Abandoned They had no love for the "only saving name" which the Apostles had spoken over every new convert at their baptism, choosing to replace the powerful Name of Jesus with nonspecific titles in the baptismal formula... God's Third Commandment Abandoned. Finally, the Sun worshipping pagans who now vastly out numbered the original church had no qualms at all rejecting God's 7th Day Sabbath and continuing to keep SUNday calling it the "new christian sabbath"... God's Fourth Commandment Abandoned By this time their numbers simply drowned out any alarm of the now small and minutly insignificant minority which was the original church.
